Landscape architecture design for a country home in Extremadura, Spain. Given the arid climate the plant palette was selected for draught enduring species that still provide a rich composition.
The variety in flooring and pavers creates a dynamic circulation that offers both direct access to main areas as well as meandering paths for slower living.
An exterior kitchen in plaster and wood compliments the existing house. The new pool sits in the same location as the existing but is now accompanied two decks for sun bathing, one adjacent to the kitchen and one south where the view of the olive trees is best.
The firepit design follows the minimal rustic aesthetic and creates a sitting nook with view to the pool and the mountains.
Delineating where activities can happen often promotes more use of the spaces. The new exterior kitchen, dining and fire pit are an invitation to enjoy new areas of the house and accentuate the views of the olive trees.
